After passing its first House committee hearing on January 23, its second (final) House committee hearing on January 25, and the full House floor on February 1, hurrah!, New Mexico's 2019 National Popular Vote bill (House Bill 55) is now heading to the New Mexico Senate! Further details to come.

On February 1 our bill likely will be heard in the full House's late afternoon session, which will begin at 6:00 PM, and it is the 4th bill on the agenda, though this could shift. Legislative sessions are notoriously fluid, so it's key to stay flexible and even prepare for the possibility that the bill will slip into a subsequent day.

FULL FLOOR!

AND ACTIONS STEPS

BEFORE THE FULL HOUSE HEARING CONTACT YOUR LEGISLATORS (AGAIN)

While you hopefully already have called, emailed, or visited your legislators who served on the House committees that have considered House Bill 55, it's important to contact everyone (again) before New Mexico's National Popular Vote bill will be heard by the full House floor—in other words, by all state representatives, not just the committee members.

To do so, in the interest of time and convenience consider taking advantage of the national National Popular Vote organization's quick and easy AUTOMATED SYSTEM (http://www.national-popular-vote.com/Campaign/NM/NM6).

After pressing the SEND EMAILS button you will receive an email confirmation that lists the names of the state legislators and officials to whom your message was sent, along with other actions you can take.

Since your message destination was custom-tailored to your zip code, the names shown under YOUR LEGISLATORS in the confirmation email are the New Mexico Representative (and Senator) for whom you are a CONSTITUENT, which means that you live in their legislative district and have voting power over their political careers.
